Future=FREE

Chris Anderson, editor of WIRED Magazine, wrote a profound article in this months magazine titled…

I wanted to look at this from a ministry standpoint.  As christians we all share a common focused goal.  To point others to be devoted followers of Christ.  With the future of church being digital, sharing the message of Christ globally has been obtained without even leaving your lazy-boy!  

One problem… The interweb isn’t free!! There are bandwidth costs, servers, domains, storage, geeks to run it all, and on and on. However what Anderson proclaims in his article is if you as a business (church) go online you will eventually have to go free. 

Enter LIFECHURCH.TV… Progressive, thinks oustide the box, multiple (worldwide) campuses, rock solid teaching, the first real online church… and it’s all free!!  Every series they do as a church can end up on your desktop FREE OF CHARGE. I’m talking the bulletin graphic, the mailer graphics, the video loop, the introductory video, video teasers, the message outline, small group questions, and the DVD file. Yours for the taking. 

Now I know other large churches sometimes charge a small fee for the series and I don’t mean to knock what anyone else is providing, but the simple problem is it’s not free.  Can we really put a price on sharing Christ even in the digital age?  

I am so proud of LIFECHURCH for being a pioneer in this new media movement and truly understanding the “point of it all”!  Make no mistake about the money… there is no telling what it costs them to really be free!!
